One of the many underrated U.K. artists that have come out in the last few years, Pixie Lott is recognized for her distinctive soulful sound.
From her worldwide soul-pop hit ‘Mama Do’, to the acid-jazz influenced ‘Boys & Girls’, Lott has garnered 3 U.K. number ones. This also includes 4 certified singles (3 silver and 1 gold).
Her latest album effort (excluding her compilation album) Pixie Lott contains the top 10 U.K. hit ‘Nasty’. The song was originally going to be a part of the Burlesque movie soundtrack featuring Christina Aguilera and Cher.
Fortunately for Lott, she was able to secure the song for her own and record it.
Overall, her diverse eclectic sound in her albums has not really been praised enough in our humble opinion.
Her 10 top ten U.K. hits have been far from recognized. It’s a little odd considering how hard it can be to consistently push out hits consecutively.
We hope Pixie Lott has plans to conquer the states soon. A voice like hers playing on U.S. radio would be amazing to hear. Since she has a very distinct sound, it would be easy to recognize her from the other dozens of mainstream artists.
