But Pixie Lott chose to break her own style rules on Friday evening as she stepped out in London in a demure ensemble.
The chart star looked effortlessly chic as she slipped into a printed midi skirt and a plain black top for her night spent at the theatre in the capital's West End district.

Pixie, 25, induced a fresh bout of style envy as she picked out a shimmering pleated skirt - which was emblazoned with a zig-zag pattern - for the low-key outing.She paired the statement piece with a cropped polo-neck jumper which made for the perfect accompaniment.
The Mama Do hit-maker flashed a glimpse of her lean legs, which were elongated with a pair of silver strappy stilettos, as she exited the Playhouse Theatre.

The dark comedy is the Friends star's playwrighting debut in which he also plays the leading character.
Gushing over the show, Pixie shared her positive review on Twitter, writing: 'What a show! #TheEndOfLonging the writing + cast were amazing @JenniferMudge @EndOfLonging @thisisCcole @MatthewPerry @Lloyd__Owen.'
It's been a busy week for Pixie who celebrated the upcoming BAFTA awards show on Thursday, followed by an early-morning radio appearance on Friday.
